The idea of slowly mutating textures always fascinated me. Music that is not one set emotion, or one set genre but rather a more liquid, evolving collection of sounds. This piece was created on a massive church organ in one of Utrecht's oldest churches which now houses Museum Speelklok. By starting with one note and pulling out more organ stops (activating more organ pipes) the tone gradually becomes more complex, growing faster and faster and eventually slowing down again, ending in the same single note.
